a) A Word of Delight – verse 1.
I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go into the house of the Lord.”
(We have sung this psalm hundreds of times since 1992 when our Fellowship started and a lot has happened since then).
b) A Word of Determination – verse 2.
Our feet have been standing within your gates, O Jerusalem!
(This verse speaks of the past, present and future fulfilment).
A Word of Description – verse 3.
Jerusalem is built as a city that is compact together.
(This city of cities is and will be an attraction to pilgrims from all over the world present and future during the 1,000 years rule of Adonai Yeshua).
a) A Word of Holiness – verse 4.
Where the tribes go up, the tribes of the Lord, to the testimony of Yisrael, to give thanks to the name of the Lord. (An attitude of gratitude will be seen).
b) A Word of Humbleness – verse 5.
For thrones are set there for judgment, the thrones of the house of David. (Matters of daily life will be adjudicated by the priesthood).
a) The Requests for Prayer for Yerushalayim and a blessing – verse 6.
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: “May they prosper who love you.”
(Those who do so will surely prosper in God).
b) The Reasons for Prayer – Peace and Prosperity – verses 7-9.
“Peace be within your walls, prosperity within your palaces.”
For the sake of my brethren (Jews) and companions (Gentiles), I will now say, “Peace be within you.”
Because of the house of the Lord our God I will seek your good.
(Here is the heart of God within like-minded saints of the Lord who love His Word, His City, His Land and His Chosen People. Those who bless will be blessed and those who curse will experience measure for measure. It is written and so shall it be). Amen.
