Yisrael - Past, Present and Future

1, Elohim’s Past Dealings with Yisrael.

Key thought – His Sovereignty and Approval.

Tanakh – Devarim 7:6-7. For thou art an Am Kodesh (a Holy People) unto Hashem Eloheicha. Hashem Eloheicha hath chosen thee to be an Am Segullah (a Treasured People) unto Himself, above all people that are upon the face of ha’adamah (the earth).

Hashem did not set His love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in number than any people; for ye were the fewest of kol ha’ammim (all peoples).

Yeshayahu 1:9; 13:19. Except Hashem Tzva’ot had left unto us a very small remnant, we should have been as Sodom, and we should have been like unto Amora (Gomorrah).

Yeshayahu 10:22-23. For though thy people Yisrael be like the chol hayam, only a remnant of them shall return; destruction is decreed, overwhelming tzedakah. For Adonai Hashem Tzva’ot shall carry out the kalah (destruction) decreed, even upon the kol ha’aretz.

Brit HaDashah – Romans 9:27-28. Isaiah also crieth concerning Israel, Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, a remnant shall be saved. For He will finish the work and cut it short in righteousness: because a short work will the Lord make upon the earth.

2, Elohim’s Present Dealings with Yisrael.

Key thought – His Salvation and Anointing.

Yeshayahu 46:3-4. Pay heed unto Me, O Bais Ya’akov (House of Jacob), and kol She’erit Bais Yisrael (all the remnant of Israel), who are borne by Me from birth, who are carried from the rechem (womb); And even to your ziknah (old age) I am He; and even to your gray hair will I carry you; I have made, and I will carry; even I will carry, and will deliver you.

Israel’s salvation is to be achieved through His Mashiach – the Anointed One.

Brit HaDashah – Yochanan 6:38-40. Yeshua said, “For I have come down from Shamayim (Heaven) not that I may do my ratzon, but the ratzon (will) of the One having sent me.  Now this is the ratzon of the One Who sent me, that I should lose nothing of all which He has given me, but I will raise him up on the Yom HaAcharon (The Last Day). For this is the ratzon of Avi (The Father) that everyone seeing the Ben (Son) and believing in him may have Chayyei Olam (Eternal Life), and on Yom HaAcharon I will raise him up.”

Yochanan 11:25. Yeshua said to her, “I AM the resurrection and the life, he who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.” (Absent from the body, present with the Lord).

Yochanan 14:6. Yeshua said to him, “I AM HaDerech (The Way), HaEmes (The Truth), and HaChayyim (The Life). No one comes to HaAv (The Father) except through Me.

3, Elohim’s Promised (Future) Dealings with Yisrael.

Key thought His Sincerity and Appointing.

Tanach – Yeremiah 23:6. In his days Yehudah shall be saved, and Yisrael shall dwell safely; and this is Shmo (His Name) whereby He shall be called HaAdonai Tzidkeinu (The Lord our Righteousness).

Elohim shall regather fully and restore Yisrael to be a kingdom of priests unto HaMashiach when He comes again to reign and rule on this earth. The Temple will be re-built by the Redeemer. Yeshua will be Melech and Sar Shalom unto His people and all the Gentiles called by His name. As it is written so shall it be.

The rebirth of the State of Israel is a harbinger of this coming national and spiritual future for His chosen people to all be back in the Land the Lord gave. We are instructed to pray for the peace of Jerusalem in Psalm 122:6 and in Isaiah 40:1 Nachamu, Nachamu Ami (Comfort, comfort my people).    Yisrael ahuvi (Israel My beloved). Amen.

BritHadashah – Romans 11:1, 5-6, 26-27.

I ask, therefore, has Hashem repudiated His people? Not at all! Chas v’shalom! For I too am a ben Yisrael, of the zera Avraham Avinu (seed of Abraham our father), of the tribe of Binyamin.

Thus, therefore, also in the zman hazeh (present time), there has come into being a she’erit (remnant) in accordance with the bechirah (election) of chesed (unmerited favour or grace). But if on the mekor (basis) of chen v’chesed (unmerited favour, grace), then not on the mekor (basis) of wages, batsolen (pay) for ma’asim (works), vi-bahlt (since) otherwise chesed (grace) would no longer be chesed.

And so Kol Yisrael shall be delivered, as it is written: “Out of Tziyon shall come the Go’el (Deliverer, Redeemer); He will turn away, remove peysha (sin) from Ya’akov (Jacob).  “And this will be My Brit (Covenant) with them, when I take away their sins”.
