An archangel who stands in the presence of God who brought glad tidings to earth. See Luke 1:19.

He came down from Heaven twice, possibly 3 times as Joseph was spoken to by an Angel in a dream. (Matthew 1:19-21)
Once to see a man – Zacharias (Luke 1:5-17).
Once to see a woman – Mary (Luke 1:26-38).
Once to visit a priest.
Once to visit a peasant.
Once to call upon an old man.
Once to call upon a very young virgin.
The man Zacharias doubted and became dumb –
(Luke 1:18-20) the woman however burst into a song from her heart. (Luke 1:46-55).
NB. Gabriel in his annunciation proclaimed the Two Comings of Yeshua the Messiah but Mary could not see the wide centuries that divided the two halves of the message given by God. We can see and are eagerly awaiting the Second Coming of Adonai Yeshua – Melech shel Yisrael ve Sar Shalom (King of Israel and the Prince of Peace).
