Yeshua l'Adam shel Tefillah
(Jesus the Man of Prayer.)

Proposition: We are going to see our Lord praying before, during and after 14 incidents written within the 4 Gospels.

 

1) At His baptism while praying the Holy Spirit came upon Him – Luke 3:21-22.

2) After He had healed many who were sick with diseases and demon possessed – Mark 1:32-35.

3) When His fame spread and multitudes came to hear – Luke 5:12-16.

4) Before appointing His disciples – Luke 6:12-13.

5) When He had fed five thousand – Mark 6:45-46.

6) Before telling His disciples He must suffer and be slain – Luke 9:18-22.

7) As He prayed, He was transfigured – Luke 9:29-36.

8) Before raising Lazarus from the dead – John 11:41.      

9) Before teaching His talmidim to pray – Luke 11:1.

10) When His soul was troubled – John 12:27.

11) When about to leave His talmidim – John 17:1-9.

12) In the Garden of Gethsemane – Matthew 26:36-44.

13) On the Cross, for His persecutors – Luke 23:34.

14) On the Cross when resigning His breath – Luke 23:46.

‘We stand in awe, our Lord and Saviour’

Prayer.

A) The Time for Prayer – Always. Luke 18:1.

“Then He spoke a parable unto them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart.”

B) The Subjects for Prayer – Everybody. 1 Tim 2:1-5.

Therefore, I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men.

for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.

C) The Place for Prayer – Everywhere. 1 Tim 2:8.

I desire therefore that the men everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.

D) The Conditions of Prayer – In My Name. John 14:13-14.

“And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.”

 

Our Four Prayer Promises.

1) Ask and it shall be given – Matthew 7:7-11.

2) Agree and it shall be done – Matthew 18:19.

3) Abide, then ask what you will – John 15:7.

4) Able to do above our asking or thinking – Ephesians 3:20.
