The Blowing of the Shofar Ram Horns

TEKIAH          –     A long unwavering blast.

SHEVARIM    –     Three short broken blasts.

TERUAH         –     Nine part staccato blast.

TEKIAH          –     One long blast.

1. Silver trumpets were used over the burnt and peace offerings in the Temple – Numbers 10:10. 2 Chronicles 29:27-28.

1. The shofar was used for:- 

a) The coronation of a King. 1 Kings 1:34, 39.

b) To gather an assembly of the people. Numbers 10:2-4.

c) To sound a battle alarm. Numbers 10:9.
