Shemini Atzeret ve Simchat Torah

Shemini Atzeret – Prayer for rain after Succot.

Simchat Torah – Rejoicing in the Torah, the end of the reading cycle and the yearly beginning.

Our key verse is Deuteronomy 33:29.

It has 7 Points for God’s People – The Lord’s Perfect Plan.

  1. A Happy People – “Happy are you, O Israel!
  2. A Unique People – Who is like you,
  3. A Saved People – a people saved by the Lord.
  4. A Sheltered People – The shield of your help.
  5. A Defended People – and the sword of your majesty!
  6. A Persecuted People – Your enemies shall submit to you.
  7. A Triumphant People – and you shall tread down their high places. (of pagan worship)
