O.T. – Isaiah 7:14. Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: “Behold the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel.”
N.T. – Matthew 1:23. “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call Him name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.”
Proposition:-
GOD – His Person.
WITH – His Presence.
US – His Purpose.
TEACHING:-
GOD – His Person. (5 Facts).
1) Numerous wonderful prophecies were accurately fulfilled in Yeshua.
2) His virgin birth.
3) His sinless life.
4) His triumphant resurrection.
5) His powerful influence on the world.
(From Creation, to the Cradle to the Cross, to His return to Conquer His enemies).
WITH – His Presence. (3 Truths).
1) God ‘over us’ as our Sovereign Lord.
2) God ‘for us’ as our Gracious Lord.
3) God ‘in us’ as our Living Lord.
The fullness of this will be seen when He returns to reign and rule for 1,000 years and then for all eternity.
US – His Purpose. (1 Vision).
1) He came into the world to save sinners.
Paul wrote in 1 Timothy 1:15. ‘This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Messiah Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief.’
GOD WITH US –
His Power, Plan and Promise. Matthew 28:18-20.
His Power – Verse 18 – “All authority has been given unto Me, in Heaven and on the Earth.”
His Plan – Verse 19 – “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”
His Promise – Verse 20 – “Teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I AM with you always, even to the end of the age.”
Let us take this devotional with us in its fullness as we are in the Days of Sorrow not the Years of Sorrow.
Soon and very soon, in His perfect timing. Our redemption truly draweth nigh.
Our blessed Immanuel goes ahead of us for as He is the beginning and the end. Amen.
