Our New Life in Him

 

Key verse: 2 Corinthians 5:17. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

 

1) A Life of Holiness – 1 Thessalonians 5:22. Abstain from every form of evil.

 

2 Timothy 2:19 –  Nevertheless the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: “The Lord knows those who are His,” and, “Let everyone who names the name of Christ[a] depart from iniquity.”

 

2) A Life of Prayer – 1 Thessalonians 5:17. Pray without ceasing.

 1 Timothy 2:8. I desire therefore that the men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.

 

3) A Life of Death – Colossians 1:23. If indeed you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel which you heard, which was preached to every creature under heaven, of which I, Sha’ul/Paul, became a minister.

Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

 

4) A Life of Self-Denial – Matthew 5:29.  If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell.

 

Galatians 5:24. And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

5) A Life of Separation – Exodus 32:26. Then Moses stood in the entrance of the camp, and said, “Whoever is on the Lord’s side—come to me!” And all the sons of Levi gathered themselves together to him.

 

Key verse: 2 Corinthians 6:14. Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?

 

6) A Life of Consecration – Exodus 28:40-41.  “For Aaron’s sons you shall make tunics, and you shall make sashes for them. And you shall make hats for them, for glory and beauty. 41 So you shall put them on Aaron your brother and on his sons with him. You shall anoint them, consecrate them, and sanctify them, that they may minister to Me as priests.”

 

Romans 12:1. I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.

 

7) A Life of Service Deuteronomy 10:12. And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you, but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways and to love Him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul.

 

Luke 16:13. No servant can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.
