The 7 principal names of Ha Mashiach (the Messiah) in the Book of Isaiah.
The name Yesha’yahu/Isaiah means ‘Yahweh is Salvation’.
1) ‘Immanuel’ – Yesha’yahu (Isaiah) chapter 7:14.
Therefore, the Lord Himself shall give you a sign: Behold, a virgin (The Hebrew word used here is almah meaning a virgin who has not yet known a man) shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel. (Immanuel means with us is God as Yeshua is the Son of God and the name Yeshua means salvation)
2) ‘Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace’ – Yesha’yahu (Isaiah) chapter 9:6-7.
For unto us a Child is born, unto us a son is given, and the government shall be upon His shoulder, and His name shall be called Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. (Pele Yoetz, El Gibbor, Avi-Ad, Sar Shalom.) Verse 7. Of the increase of His government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.
3) The coming reign of ‘The Righteous King’ – Yesha’yahu (Isaiah) ch32:1.
Behold, a king will reign in righteousness and princes will rule with justice.
4) The Servant – Yesha’yahu (Isaiah) chapter 42:1.
“Behold! My Servant, whom I uphold, My Elect One in whom My soul delights! I have put My Spirit upon Him; He will bring forth justice to the Gentiles.”
(Only God knows the full number of people from the first century onwards who have believed and put their trust in Yeshua (Jesus) to become ‘Born Again’ by repenting as He taught and to then receive the promise of eternal life.)
5) The Arm of the Lord – Yesha’yahu (Isaiah) chapter 53:1.
Who has believed our report (or message)? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?
6) The Anointed One – Yesha’yahu (Isaiah) chapter 61:1.
“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, because the Lord has anointed Me to preach good tidings (the Gospel means Good News/Tidings – Besorah) to the poor; He has sent Me to heal (or to bind up) the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives.”
7) The Mighty Vindicator – Yesha’yahu (Isaiah) chapter 63:1.
“Who is this that comes from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah, (see Isaiah 34:6) the One who is glorious in His apparel, travelling in the greatness of His strength. “I who speak in righteousness, mighty to save.”
This is none other than our Moshiach – as He comes the second time in majestic splendour to save His people who have finally believed, from a coming wicked ruler known to Jewish theologians as Armilus and to gentiles as the coming Antichrist to rule the whole troubled world. This man will fool many as the false Messiah, he is not the scriptural Messiah.
Yeshua stated, “You will not see Me again until you cry out Baruch haba b’shem Adonai.” Blessed is He who comes in the Name of the Lord – HaShem.
Salvation is freely available now, do not wait, today is the day of repentance to gain eternal salvation. We are living in the ‘Days of Sorrow’ that Yeshua/Jesus spoke of. The future end times scenario is detailed for all who would read it in The Book of Revelation chapters 6 to 19. To then repent and receive the promise of eternal life through the sacrificial blood atonement of Yeshua/Jesus.
1) To be a Light in the Darkness – Yesha’yahu (Isaiah) chapter 9:2.
The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light, those who dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them a light has shined.
2) To Judge Righteously – Yesha’yahu (Isaiah) chapter 11:1-5.
There shall come forth a stem from the root of Jesse and a Branch shall grow out of his roots. The Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him. The Spirit of wisdom and understanding. The Spirit of counsel and might. The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord. His delight is in the fear of the Lord and He shall not judge by the sight of His eyes. Nor decide by the hearing of His ears. But with righteousness He shall judge the poor and decide with equity for the meek of the earth. He shall strike the earth with the rod of His mouth and with the breath of His lips He shall slay the wicked. Righteousness shall be the belt of His loins and faithfulness the belt of His waist.
3) To Establish Justice – Yesha’yahu (Isaiah) chapter 42:4.
He will not fail nor be discouraged, till He has established justice in the earth and the coastlands shall wait for His law.
4) To Liberate – Yesha’yahu (Isaiah) chapter 42:6.
I, the Lord, have called You in righteousness and will hold Your hand. I will keep You and give You as a covenant to the people, as a light to the Gentiles.
5) To Confirm there is no other God – Yesha’yahu (Isaiah) chapter 44:6.
Thus says the Lord, the King of Israel and His Redeemer, the Lord of hosts; I am the First and I am the Last; besides Me there is no God.
6) To be a Light to Israel and the Gentiles – Yesha’yahu (Isaiah) chapter 49:5-6.
And now the Lord says, who formed Me from the womb to be His Servant, to bring Jacob back to Him, so that Israel is gathered to Him (for I shall be glorious in the eyes of the Lord and My God shall be My strength). Indeed, He says, ‘It is too small a thing that You should be My Servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob and to restore the preserved ones of Israel. I will also give You as a light to the Gentiles, that You should be My salvation to the ends of the earth.’
7) To be The Sin-Bearing Servant – Yesha’yahu (Isaiah) chapter 52:13-15.
Behold, My Servant shall deal prudently; He shall be exalted and extolled and be very high. Just as many were astonished at you, so His visage was marred more than any man and His form more than the sons of men. So shall He sprinkle many nations. Kings shall shut their mouths at Him; for what had not been told them they shall see and what they had not heard they shall consider.
8) To Carry our Griefs and Sorrows – Yesha’yahu (Isaiah) chapter 53:4.
Surely, He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God and afflicted.
9) To be our Saviour – Yesha’yahu (Isaiah) chapter 53:5.
But He was wounded for our transgressions, was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him and by His stripes we are healed.
10) To Take Away our Sin – Yesha’yahu (Isaiah) chapter 53:6.
All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned, every one, to his own way and the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.
11) To show Meekness – Yesha’yahu (Isaiah) chapter 53:7-9.
He was oppressed and He was afflicted. Yet He opened not His mouth; He was led as a lamb to the slaughter and as a sheep before its shearers He was silent. So, He opened not His mouth. He was taken from prison and from judgment and who can declare His generation? For He was cut off from the land of the living; For the transgressions of My people He was stricken. And they made His grave with the wicked. But with the rich at His death because He had done no violence, nor was any deceit in His mouth.
12) To Atone and be the Suffering Servant – Yesha’yahu (Isaiah) chapter 53:10-12.
Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise Him; He has put Him to grief. When You make His soul an offering for sin. He shall see His seed; He shall prolong His days and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in His hand. He shall see the labour of His soul and be satisfied. By His knowledge My righteous Servant shall justify many, for He shall bear their iniquities. Therefore, I will divide Him a portion with the great and He shall divide the spoil with the strong, because He poured out His soul unto death and He was numbered with the transgressors (the two thieves on Crosses either side of Him) and He bore the sin of many and made intercession for the transgressors. (This being all of us).
The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but those things which are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law. Devarim (Deuteronomy) chapter 29:29.
Prophecy – “The Lord your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me (Moses) from your midst, from your brethren Him you shall hear.” Devarim (Deuteronomy) chapter 18:15.
Fulfilment – Then those men, when they had seen the sign that Yeshua did, said, “This is truly the Prophet who is to come into the world.” Yochanan (John) 6:14.
Prophecy – “And I will pour on the house of David (Israel) and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication; then they will look on Me whom they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him, as one mourns for his only son and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn.” Zekharyah (Zechariah – Yahweh Remembers) chapter 12:10.
Fulfilment – And He bearing His cross, went out to a place called the Place of a Skull, which is called in Hebrew, Golgotha, where they crucified Him (hands and feet pierced) and two others with Him, one on either side and Yeshua (Jesus) in the center. John 19:17-18. So, when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit. Then the soldiers came and broke the legs of the first and then the other who was crucified with Him. But when they came to Yeshua and saw that He was already dead, they did not break His legs. But one of the soldiers pierced His side with a spear and immediately blood and water came out. (This is proof that death had occurred.) Yochanan (John – means God is Gracious) chapter 19:30 and verses 32-34.
Prophecy – “The Lord has sworn and will not relent, “You are a priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.” Ketuvim (Psalm) 110:4.
Fulfilment – Where the forerunner has entered for us, even Yeshua, having become High Priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek. Ivri (Hebrews) 6:20. (At this point we may note that the name Yeshua means ‘salvation’.) But Messiah (Christ) came as High Priest of the good things to come, with the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands, that is not of this creation. Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption. Ivri (Hebrews) 9:11-12.
Prophecy – The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at My right hand, till I make Your enemies Your footstool.” Ketuvim (Psalm) 110:1.
Fulfilment – But to which of the angels has He ever said: “Sit at My right hand, till I make Your enemies Your footstool.” Ivri (Hebrews) 1:13.
There we have it dear reader, the Prophets and the Scriptures give us a very accurate prophetic picture of our Messiah, who gave His life for us all. His royal blood was shed on Golgotha’s Hill. On the third day He rose from the dead to show there is life beyond the grave when we turn to Him as God’s only provision for the atonement of our sins. This being the final fulfillment of Leviticus 17:11 and all the Scriptures presented in this leaflet. The choice is yours, Yeshua said he was the anointed One, the Moshiach, sent by Elohim as a propitiation for our sins, our words, thoughts and actions. More and more Jews and Gentiles are coming to a clear understanding and knowledge of the truth and a saving faith in Yeshua. When He comes will He be your Saviour or your Judge? Salvation belongs to God. Amen.
